Overview
- The shooting, which happened on Friday, June 19, left a man in his 30s with a suspected gunshot wound and he remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
- Officers initially launched an attempted murder investigation after armed police arrested a 51-year-old at an address on Queens Drive and set cordons at St Paul’s Street and Queens Drive for forensic work.
- Police arrested a total of five people on Saturday on suspicions including attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, assisting an offender and drug offences related to nitrous oxide and Class C supply.
- On Sunday police made three further arrests — a 20-year-old on suspicion of attempted murder and a 19-year-old and a 30-year-old on suspicion of conspiracy to murder — while some earlier detainees were released on bail.
