Three Jaish-e-Mohammad Militants Killed in Udhampur and Kishtwar Operations

Intelligence-led tactics using drones enabled a cave assault that tightened the winter dragnet in upper Jammu.

Overview

  • Operation Kiya in Udhampur ended with two JeM militants killed after a 20-hour joint assault on a natural cave in the Jophar/Jaffer forest.
  • Officials identified one of the slain as Rubani alias Abu Mavia, a senior JeM commander active in the area, with an associate reported as Zubair.
  • Recovered weapons included an AK-47 and an M4 carbine, and the White Knight Corps said the area remains under surveillance after the operation.
  • Under the ongoing Operation Trashi-I in Kishtwar, troops re-established contact in the Dichhar area and neutralised one militant, with searches continuing.
  • The Army’s CIF Delta, White Knight Corps, J&K Police and CRPF coordinated the intelligence-driven cordon, employing drones, camera-fitted dogs, RPG strikes and paratrooper reinforcements in difficult terrain.
