Overview
- A concentrated wave of shootings on Friday night and early Saturday left at least three people dead and six wounded across Chicago’s South and West Sides.
- In West Englewood a white SUV pulled up to a home just after 12:45 a.m. and a male inside opened fire, killing two men ages 30 and 31 and critically injuring a 26-year-old woman.
- Officers found an unresponsive 28-year-old man in West Garfield Park shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday; two other 32-year-old men shot in that incident drove themselves to hospitals and were in good condition.
- Additional separate shootings through the night and next day included victims hit on South Cicero, North Major, South Kedvale and South Calumet with patients taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, Mount Sinai, Rush and Stroger hospitals.
- Chicago Police said Area One and Area Four detectives are leading the investigations, investigators have described several incidents as vehicle-linked, and no suspects had been publicly identified or arrested as of the latest reports.
