Three Arrested in Organized Burglaries at San Marcos Premium Outlets

Police say weeks of surveillance and security footage located the suspects and investigators are still building the case while more charges may be filed.

Overview

  • Police arrested three men after intercepting them during an attempted break-in at the Tory Burch store on May 17, following an overnight foot pursuit that led to their capture.
  • Authorities identified the suspects as 17-year-old Fabian Manuel Aguiniga of New Braunfels, 37-year-old Eric Daniel Maldonado of Lockhart, and 23-year-old Victor Beltran Jr. of Seguin.
  • Investigators linked the May arrests to a string of outlet robberies that began April 11 when thieves smashed the Tory Burch front glass and stole merchandise in under a minute and continued with a similar April 26 burglary at Master Perfume.
  • The three face multiple counts including attempted burglary of a building, engaging in organized criminal activity, criminal trespass and evading arrest; Maldonado also faces additional felony counts and has a prior Hays County arrest record dating to 2011.
  • Police credited surveillance from nearby businesses, parking-lot video and partnership with outlet security for identifying travel routes and staging the May 17 operation, and they warn the investigation remains active with possible further arrests or charges.
