Three Arrested in Coventry Wheelie-Bin Murder Inquiry

Police probe whether the unidentified victim was hit by a vehicle before his body was moved to a park.

Overview

  • West Midlands Police confirmed a murder investigation after a man’s body was found around 5pm on March 13 in Cash’s Park, Coventry, inside a green‑lidded Coventry City Council wheelie bin.
  • A man and woman in their 40s and a man in his 20s were arrested overnight in Blackpool on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender, and all remain in custody.
  • Detectives are still working to identify the victim, believed to be aged 40 to 50, and have released details of distinctive tattoos to help: a cross with a snake and the words “Little Stardust” on his back, and “Nan” with a clover in Irish colours on his right arm.
  • Forensic examinations and wider enquiries continue as investigators examine the line of enquiry that the man may have been struck by a vehicle and later moved to the park.
  • Police opened a Major Incident Public Portal and are appealing for dashcam or CCTV footage and reports of missing green‑lidded bins, asking anyone with information to call 101 quoting log 4148 of March 13.
