Three Arrested After Market and Jones Shooting in San Francisco

Police say the arrests followed an investigation that traced suspects to a nearby apartment where officers recovered a loaded firearm.

Overview

  • San Francisco officers on patrol near Market and Jones heard gunfire at about 2:58 p.m. on Monday and found a person who had been shot.
  • The wounded victim was treated on scene by officers and paramedics and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
  • Police arrested Donovan Redmond Hayes, 22; Deandre Gippson, 30; and Terry Brown, 26 during separate operations and booked them on charges that include attempted murder, firearm offenses, weapons possession, drug possession, and probation violations.
  • Officers seized a loaded firearm during the arrests, later obtained a search warrant for an apartment on the 100 block of Waller Street, and say two suspects were caught after a brief foot chase when they left that building.
  • The investigation remains active, the district attorney had not announced charging decisions, and police asked anyone with information to call the department tip line or text TIP411.
