Threads Expands Live Chats With Translations, Co‑Hosts and Wider Access

Meta’s Threads, which announced the update Tuesday, added automatic translation in Live Chats so participants can read messages across different languages.
The company opened the ability to start Live Chats to all Community Champions so more active community members can host real‑time events.
Hosts can now invite up to three co‑hosts and use a delete‑for‑everyone control to remove problematic messages and share moderation duties.
Live Chats let up to 150 users send messages with additional viewers able to watch, react, and vote in polls in spectator mode, a design meant to support large event conversations.
Threads said hundreds of Live Chats run almost daily and it teased coming desktop support and pinned messages as it seeks to deepen creator-driven, event-focused engagement while growing toward 500 million monthly users.
