- More than 1,000 mourners filled St. James Church in Salem on Wednesday as a flag-draped casket was carried in for Trooper Kevin Trainor’s funeral.
- State troopers traveled from across the country, including Colorado, Kansas, Connecticut and New York, to stand in formation outside the church.
- Governor Maura Healey attended the service and addressed Trainor’s family and colleagues.
- Trainor, 30, was killed last week when his cruiser was struck head-on by a wrong-way driver on Route 1 in Lynnfield after he responded on his way home from a shift.
- Honors included a riderless horse, a final radio call, and folded U.S. flags presented to his mother and fiancée.
