Thirsk Man Dies After Being Hit by Car Outside Nova Bar

North Yorkshire Police are investigating and have appealed for CCTV and dashcam footage as the family and town mourn.

Overview

  • Peter Hudson, 61, was struck by a white Mercedes A Class outside the Nova Bar in Market Place and died at the scene, in an incident that happened shortly before 10.30pm on Sunday, June 7.
  • Firefighters and paramedics attended but could not save him, and Market Place was closed until 6am the next morning while emergency crews worked and the vehicle was recovered.
  • The driver, a 46-year-old man from Darlington, is assisting North Yorkshire Police with inquiries and no charges have been reported so far.
