Overview
- Thiel Capital agreed to lease roughly 18,000 square feet on the 44th floor of 830 Brickell at about $250 per square foot, a deal reported Thursday and described as the highest-priced office lease in Miami-Dade County.
- The space was previously leased by Brazil’s Banco Master, which collapsed last year amid a fraud investigation and never occupied the unit, making high-quality space available for immediate re-leasing.
- 830 Brickell, completed in 2024, is marketed as Miami’s premier trophy office tower and already houses tenants such as Citadel, Thoma Bravo, Kirkland & Ellis and Microsoft.
- Developers, leasing agents and Thiel representatives declined to comment, and the lease follows several years of Thiel-linked moves to South Florida including a Miami Beach home, a Founders Fund office and a Wynwood lease.
- The transaction may push local top-tier rents higher and is seen as a vote of confidence in Miami’s office market, and observers note Thiel’s ability to make large real estate commitments could grow if stakes in firms like SpaceX and Anthropic reach public markets.
