The Hundred Stages UK Sport’s First Player Auction in London on March 11–12

Private investment tied to IPL-linked owners has driven a shift to an auction model with bigger salary pots.

Overview

  • The women's auction takes place Wednesday and the men's follows Thursday at Piccadilly Lights, with live coverage on Sky Sports from 10am and streaming on BBC Sport.
  • Players will be sold in three phases—hero, ranked and nominated—with longlists of 178 women and 247 men.
  • Teams were allowed up to four pre-auction signings, and salary caps stand at £2.05m for men and £880,000 for women with significant deductions already applied.
  • Squads can now include four overseas players, up from three, and each team will leave two wildcard spots to be filled after the Vitality Blast.
  • Franchise stake sales, including to IPL-linked groups, have reshaped ownership and helped generate about £520m for the game, with funds earmarked for grassroots cricket.
