The Festival Brings Three-Day Broadway Lineup and Rent Reunion to Kingston

Organizers adapt the music-festival model into a destination weekend of concerts, master classes, industry programming that could expand Broadway’s reach beyond Manhattan.

Overview

  • Organizers announced on June 11 that The Festival will run August 14–16, 2026 at Kingston’s Hutton Brickyards and that the Saturday lineup will feature a 30th Anniversary Rent reunion with nearly the original Broadway company.
  • Tony-winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell leads the creative team with Jon Rua and D. B. Bonds directing, and programming will play across three daytime stages with a fourth stage added for evening cabarets.
  • The weekend bill includes headline concerts, themed nights such as a Disney set and an ’80s jukebox, previews of new musicals, cabarets and singalongs featuring stars like Audra McDonald, Adrienne Warren and Mandy Gonzalez.
  • Ticketing is sold as packaged destination passes with weekend prices starting at $425 for general admission, $650 for reserved seating and $1,450 for VIP, plus lodging, parking and shuttle add-ons.
  • Beyond entertainment, the Festival includes planned master classes, panels and industry events with some session details still to be announced, and will support Broadway Cares while positioning Broadway talent outside Manhattan.
