Thane Announces 24-Hour Water Cut From 9 AM Thursday for Siddheshwar Tank Pipeline Work

The shutdown enables TMC to shift a 600 mm outlet line near the Siddheshwar tank affected by new pipeline excavation.

Overview

  • Water supply will be suspended from 9 am on March 12 to 9 am on March 13 across specified parts of Thane, the civic body said.
  • Disruptions will affect areas in Uthalsar ward including the Siddheshwar Lake vicinity, Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, Ganeshwadi, Panchpakhadi, Khopat and Kolbad, with additional cuts in Naupada localities such as Chandanwadi, Charai and Dhobi Ali.
  • TMC has urged residents to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the shutdown.
  • Officials cautioned that normal pressure may not return immediately after supply is restored.
  • A separate 24-hour cut in Goregaon ran from 9 am March 10 to 9 am March 11 for a 750 mm pipeline connection, causing complete shutdowns in some P East and P South areas and low pressure in others such as along Film City Road and Mohan Gokhale Road.
