Overview
- The bison was unlawfully killed between Nov. 23 and Nov. 26 on private property south of Lindsay, the sheriff’s office said.
- Investigators reported the animal was decapitated and the remaining carcass was left at the scene.
- The killing occurred near County Road 301 in rural Cooke County, about 40 miles north of Denton.
- The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to call 940-665-3471 or email tips@co.cooke.tx.us to submit tips anonymously.
- A $3,000 reward is available for information leading to the arrest of those responsible, and no arrests have been announced.
