Texas NASCAR Tripleheader Set as 38-Car Cup Field, Qualifying Order and Schedule Finalized

Time trials loom large with two open Cup entries in the mix plus an overfull O'Reilly field.

Overview

  • NASCAR released the Texas entry lists Monday, confirming a 38-car Cup field with open entries for Chad Finchum (No. 66) and Corey Heim (No. 67), and with 40 starters allowed all entrants are set to race.
  • Cup qualifying uses a single-lap, one-round format with the order set by NASCAR’s metric, runs Saturday at 1:40 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime, and the Würth 400 airs Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
  • The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series has 39 entries for 38 spots, so one team will miss the race after Friday qualifying at 6:05 p.m. ET on the CW app.
  • The Truck Series lists 35 entries and all will start the SpeedyCash.com 250 on Friday at 8 p.m. ET on FS1, with notable entrants including Kyle Busch and Carson Hocevar.
  • Storylines include Talladega winner Carson Hocevar returning to the Cup No. 77 for Spire and Kyle Larson running Cup, O’Reilly, and a Texas Motor Speedway dirt event during the one-weekend tripleheader.
