Overview
- A trooper died after his patrol unit collided with a semi-truck that pulled out in front of him during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 287 near Childress, state officials said.
- The trooper was identified as Sergio Romero, a recent Class B-2025 recruit who had served with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and was stationed in Childress.
