Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to Leave Strictly After 2025 Series

The BBC has set their final joint show for the Christmas Day special.

Overview

  • The longtime co-hosts announced on Instagram that they will step down together at the end of the current series, calling the job a dream and saying the timing feels right.
  • BBC executives confirmed the decision, praised their contribution, and said their last appearance together will be the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special on BBC One and iPlayer.
  • Daly has fronted the show since its 2004 launch with Bruce Forsyth, while Winkleman moved from It Takes Two to co-host the main programme from 2014.
  • They will continue to present throughout the remainder of this year’s run before signing off at Christmas.
  • Successors have not been announced, though Winkleman said she knows the new hosts and expects they will be “magnificent,” and tributes from dancers, alumni and fans have poured in.
