Tesla Stages Dozens of Cybercabs at Giga Texas as April Ramp Nears

The large grouping at the Austin factory points to early production focused on validation rather than driverless service.

Overview

  • About 60 Cybercabs were seen grouped in Tesla’s Gigafactory Texas outbound lot in the largest concentration reported to date.
  • Many vehicles had visible steering wheels and white seats even though Tesla has pitched the robotaxi as a model without a wheel or pedals.
  • These sightings track with Tesla’s plan to begin mass production in April after it shared a February photo of what it called the first unit off the Texas line.
  • Tesla did not answer questions about timing, and its website chatbot says there is no official production or delivery schedule for Cybercab.
  • Tesla also released a new Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version that it says cuts reaction time by 20%, as lawmakers scrutinize robotaxis and the company posts Cybercab-related jobs in Austin.
