Overview
- Tesla announced that it will reveal European specifications and launch details for the Semi at IAA Transportation in Hannover in mid-September and will display a truck at the show.
- The Semi entered high-volume production in Nevada in April 2026 at a plant designed for up to 50,000 trucks a year, turning years of delays into tangible fleet deliveries.
- U.S. production specs finalized earlier this year describe two trims with tri-motor drivetrains, 548 kWh and 822 kWh battery options, and support for megawatt-class charging up to about 1.2 MW.
- Fleet demand is already building with large orders including a confirmed 500-truck deal for Einride for North America, but Tesla has not yet confirmed which trims, prices or delivery timing will apply in Europe.
- European adoption will depend on where trucks are built, how fast public and depot megawatt charging and grid connections expand, and how Tesla’s offering compares on price and service with established local makers.
