Overview
- Tesco confirmed a rollout of roughly 70 new convenience stores to complete by March 2027, following 60 Express openings in 2025.
- Five former Amazon Fresh sites in London—Kensington High Street, Hounslow, Moorgate, Aldgate East and Wembley—will reopen as Tesco Express before the summer of 2026.
- Additional Express locations are planned across the UK, including Bickington in Devon, Pontrhydyrun in Torfaen, Strabane in County Tyrone and Wallyford in East Lothian.
- The retailer, which already operates just over 2,000 Express branches in the UK and Ireland, says the growth will help serve more communities and support local jobs.
- Tesco is also investing in larger formats, with new Scottish superstores set for Pitlochry and Heartlands in 2026 after recent openings in Ripon and Harrogate.
