Tesco Recalls ‘Free From’ Christmas Cupcakes Over Undeclared Milk

All 220g packs with best-before dates up to 17 January 2026 are withdrawn.

Overview

  • Tesco’s recall follows an FSA allergy alert issued on 22 December after tests indicated the cupcakes may contain milk not listed on the label.
  • Customers with a milk allergy or intolerance are told not to eat the product and to return it to any Tesco store for a full refund with no receipt required.
  • The seasonal item has been removed from sale and from Tesco’s website across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
  • Tesco has posted in‑store notices and was advised to notify allergy support organisations to reach affected consumers; the retailer says no other Tesco products are affected.
  • The action comes after an earlier December recall of Tesco Aubergine Katsu Bao Buns for undeclared milk, highlighting recent allergen‑control issues reported in its free‑from range.
