Overview
- Six new suspects were detained: a 27-year-old on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder; two men, 30 and 34, on suspicion of attempted murder; two men, 27 and 30, on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon; and a 33-year-old on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and controlled drugs.
- Four earlier arrests linked to suspected drugs recovered at the property involve a 16-year-old boy, a 19-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and an 18-year-old man; police said on October 28 that three of these individuals had been released on bail while enquiries continue.
- The incident occurred around 11.10pm on October 26 at flats on Scholars Rise in Middlesbrough, where a firearm was discharged and an 18-year-old man sustained leg injuries and was taken to hospital.
- Cleveland Police say they believe the shooting was a targeted attack and they are maintaining a highly visible presence in the area as detectives continue evidence-gathering.
