Temasek Hits Record S$518 Billion as It Repositions Portfolio Toward AI

The state investor is making a multi‑year bet to lift its AI exposure while boosting private credit and infrastructure to add income and resilience.

  • Temasek reported a net portfolio value of S$518 billion, a 10.5% rise for the year, after investing S$51 billion and divesting S$31 billion for a net deployment of S$20 billion.
  • The firm plans to increase AI-related holdings from about 6% today to as much as 15% by March 31, 2031 and already holds stakes in firms including Anthropic, OpenAI, Nvidia, TSMC and Microsoft.
  • Temasek set targets to grow private credit from 2% to 5% and core-plus infrastructure from about 1% to up to 5% by 2031 to provide steady income and downside protection.
  • This was the first full year Temasek used mark-to-market valuations for unlisted assets and management said the portfolio was reduced by roughly 2% because of the February–March Middle East conflict's effect on public markets.
  • The investor increased China exposure by about S$10 billion and shifted allocations toward hard tech and AI infrastructure while expanding Americas weight to the mid-20s percent range, and it is working with its portfolio companies to accelerate AI adoption and workforce upskilling.
