Television Academy Names Seven Inductees to Its 2026 Hall of Fame

Their Aug. 13 induction will open the Academy’s Televerse festival and spotlight a class that spans journalism, acting, producing, animation and streaming leadership.

  • The Academy announced on Tuesday that the 28th Hall of Fame class includes Ed Bradley (posthumous), Ted Danson, Sheila Nevins, Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Ted Sarandos and Jean Smart.
  • The induction ceremony is scheduled for Aug. 13 in Los Angeles and will serve as the kickoff event for the Televerse industry festival running Aug. 14–16.
  • The Television Academy released official biographies that credit Sarandos with leading Netflix’s push into original content from 2013 and note Nevins’ long record of documentary production at HBO.
  • Selection committee chair Rick Rosen and Academy chair Cris Abrego praised the honorees’ lasting impact, and the Academy named the committee members who reviewed nominees for the class.
  • The 2026 class joins more than 150 prior Hall of Fame honorees since the program began in 1984, reflecting the Academy’s practice of honoring long careers and singular achievements across TV’s creative and executive fields.
