Overview
- Three people died and one was grievously injured on Saturday when a crane used to clean an agricultural well collapsed in Korikishala village, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
- Sukine Deva Rao, S Paidaiah, and 14-year-old student Bandari Abhilash were killed, while Deva Rao’s brother, Sukine Mohan Rao, was injured.
- According to police, those present sat on the crane as a human counterweight to lift silt and asked the passing Class 10 student, who had just finished an exam, to join them.
- The crane lost balance under excessive load and plunged into the nearly 30-foot-deep well, carrying four people with it.
- The crane owner, Shivaratri Kanaka Raju, who was inside the well, escaped unhurt, and police retrieved the bodies and sent them to the district government hospital for post-mortem as an investigation proceeds.
