Overview
- Police in Vikarabad arrested a woman, her husband, and a relative on Sunday after two elderly moneylenders were found dead in a case tied to unpaid loans.
- Officers say the victims, Mahbub Bee, 65, and Abeda Begum, 60, were lured on the promise of repayment to a remote spot near Tolkatta and then killed and buried.
- Mobile-phone and other technical surveillance led investigators to the farmhouse site, where they exhumed one body and recovered skeletal remains.
- The accused allegedly called at least five to six other female creditors to the same location to kill them, but those women did not go and later sought police protection.
- Police cite debts of about ₹10–12 lakh across multiple lenders as the motive and have widened the probe by reviewing unsolved missing-women cases in the district.
