Overview
- State police established 123 counting centres and deployed about 12,000 personnel with armed forces and Quick Response Teams for law and order.
- Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS bar large gatherings within 200 metres of counting centres and ban the carrying of weapons.
- Only authorised participants — counting staff, candidates, election agents and counting agents — may enter counting halls, with admission by valid pass.
- All centres and strong rooms are under continuous CCTV coverage with real-time monitoring from the State Police Command and Control Centre, and webcasting is arranged for transparency.
- Counting will start with postal ballots before regular ballots, using bundles of 25, drum mixing by ward and rounds of 1,000 ballots per table, with mobile phones and hazardous items prohibited inside halls.
