Overview
- On March 13, the system logged its highest-ever daily energy use at 344.4 million units and a peak load of 18,228 MW at 11:17 a.m.
- The reported energy figure includes reversible pumping by TG-Genco; excluding it, consumption was 341.08 million units.
- Peak load crossed 18,000 MW three times this month and surpassed last year’s 17,162 MW peak on 10 other days, including March 14.
- TG-Genco posted record own generation of 121.48–121.77 MU from March 12–14, enabled mainly by three 800 MW units at the Yadadri Thermal Power Station.
- Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the record was historic and that utilities can handle up to 19,000 MW and 350 MU as demand rises with farm irrigation, higher temperatures, domestic and commercial use, EV charging, and fuel-supply concerns.
