- Tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao inspected works on Monday and, citing delays, told officials to run round‑the‑clock shifts and closely monitor progress to meet an October 2 completion target.
- The Central government approved the project as the 'Bhongir Fort Experiential Zone' under Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0 with an overall budget of Rs.56.81 crore.
- Project funding is split with Rs.17.91 crore for a 1,020‑metre monocable jig‑back passenger ropeway and Rs.38.90 crore for restoration of heritage structures and visitor infrastructure.
- The ropeway is specified to have six cabins plus one reserve, six seats per cabin, a capacity of 250–300 passengers per hour and a 0–6 m/s line speed, and the site will get roads, parking, a hotel and 20 six‑seater e‑vehicles.
- Plans also include an interpretation centre, cafeteria and viewing gallery along with safety and IT systems such as CCTV with 32‑channel NVR storage, emergency call boxes, DFMD and X‑ray screening, a 100 Mbps leased line for video feeds, and a three‑year maintenance contract, which together are meant to improve access, safety and visitor experience and strengthen the Yadadri–Bhongir–Kolanupaka tourism circuit.
