Telangana Issues Wide Transfer of 12 Senior IPS Officers

The transfers reassign commissioners and place several officers in full additional charge of DIG zones to keep police oversight continuous across urban and regional commands.

Overview

  • The state government issued transfer and posting orders that reassign a group of 12 senior IPS officers to new commissioner, superintendent and DIG-zone duties.
  • Sunpreet Singh has been moved from Warangal to Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Cyberabad, and given full additional charge of DIG Zone‑III (Rajanna), while N. Swetha has been posted as Commissioner of Police, Warangal, with full additional charge of DIG Zone‑IV (Bhadradri).
  • Ambar Kishor Jha, D. Joel Davis and R. Bhaskaran were assigned full additional charge as DIGs for Zones I (Kaleshwaram), V (Yadadri) and II (Basara) respectively to cover zone leadership until further orders.
  • Several officers were reassigned to key investigative and city posts: Ch. Sindu Sarma to SP, CI Cell with additional charge of SP, SIB; Y. Sai Sekhar to Superintendent of Railway Police, Secunderabad; Chennuri Rupesh and Ch. Praveen Kumar to SP posts in CID; R. Venkateshwarlu to DCP, CAR Headquarters; and Rajesh Meena to SP, Vikarabad, while B. Ramulu Naik was directed to report to the DGP's office.
  • The orders take effect immediately and use full/additional charge (FAC) as a temporary administrative step to maintain leadership continuity across Cyberabad, Warangal and multiple DIG zones until permanent postings are finalised.
