Telangana Extends Indiramma Flat Application Deadline to August 15

The housing minister ordered officials to finish scrutiny and complete allotments by the end of the month to handle a surge in applications.

Overview

  • The government moved the application cut-off from August 10 to August 15 and directed officials to complete scrutiny and allot flats by month-end without delays.
  • The State Housing Board recorded 46,121 applications after a near 11,000-application surge over the holiday weekend, with entries taken at MeeSeva centres, the housing board website and a WhatsApp number.
  • Applications are heavily concentrated in a few constituencies, with Kukatpally at 6,615, Quthbullapur at 5,571 and Khairatabad at 5,518, creating strong competition for the available units.
  • Under the first phase the government plans 7,680 flats, each 528 sq ft built-up (400 sq ft carpet), with a ₹5 lakh subsidy per flat and beneficiaries paying ₹6 lakh in four installments.
  • Secunderabad Cantonment will receive fewer than 480 flats because of local restrictions, a distribution constraint that may shift allocations and leave many applicants waiting as the scheme contributes to a 100,000-house Hyderabad plan.
