- ACB teams carried out coordinated searches at the deputy collector’s office, home and linked sites on Friday and attached documents, cash, gold, vehicles and property records for initial valuation and review.
- Officials recorded seized assets worth about ₹6.22 crore on paper, including 19 open plots, an independent house, two flats, a two-acre farmhouse, bank balances and two cars.
- Investigators told reporters that market values are likely far higher than recorded values and some media reports cite estimates ranging from tens of crores up to more than ₹100 crore for the properties under scrutiny.
- The officer, Marri Vamshi Mohan, was arrested and produced before the special court for ACB cases and remanded to judicial custody as the probe continues.
- Probes are now focused on suspected benami transfers, notably a 2023 purchase of eight acres in Piglipur village in the name of the officer’s father-in-law, and further forensic accounting and property tracing may widen the case or lead to attachments.
