Overview
- HMRL was told on Tuesday by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to complete land acquisition and road widening along the 7.5 km MGBS–Chandrayangutta corridor and to initiate tendering for Phase II works.
- The chief minister instructed HMRL to consult Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for advice on suitable technology for the constrained Old City alignment to reduce delays and technical risk.
- Officials were asked to work out modalities to add extra coaches to the existing metro fleet to handle rising passenger demand and to plan procurement or retrofitting as needed.
- Revanth Reddy reviewed preparations for the Invest Telangana Global Summit in December and ordered officials to prepare investment-status reports from prior MoUs plus a roadmap to convert commitments into projects.
- The push to fast-track the Old City corridor will require coordinated demolition, relocation and traffic plans in narrow, built-up areas and could speed construction while raising near-term disruption for local residents.
