Telangana ACB Arrests DSP After Raids Find Vast Property Network

Discovery of a handwritten diary accelerated tracing of alleged benami links and prompted a wider probe.

Overview

  • ACB teams carried out coordinated searches at 16 locations linked to DSP Sankireddy Bheem Reddy on July 2 and recovered documents, cash, jewellery and records used to map ownership chains.
  • The ACB arrested the officer on Monday evening and a city court sent him to 14 days of judicial remand at Chanchalguda Central Jail after he was produced before the designated ACB court.
  • Investigators seized physical assets including about Rs 3.6 lakh from the DSP’s home, roughly Rs 40 lakh from an alleged benamidar, around 2 kg of gold, about 20 kg of silver and bank balances near Rs 19.9 lakh.
  • Records recovered include deeds and papers for a villa in Vessella Meadows, multiple flats and commercial units in Hyderabad suburbs, open plots and large tracts of agricultural land in Telangana and Karnataka, with media and officials estimating market value in the roughly Rs 200–300 crore range.
  • The ACB is verifying documents, questioning alleged benamidars and preparing further legal and departmental action while the probe examines the diary entries, transaction trails and the mechanisms used to conceal assets.
