Tej Pratap Files Theft Complaint After Cash and Valuables Go Missing from Patna Residence

Forensic teams are reviewing CCTV and digital records to establish the facts and decide whether the named aide will face criminal charges.

Overview

  • Tej Pratap alleges roughly Rs 20 lakh in cash plus jewellery and electronic devices were stolen from his official Harding Road residence and he lodged a complaint naming his personal assistant.
  • The complaint says two household associates saw the accused carrying a bag and scaling the boundary wall late on June 22, and police registered the matter after the claim was made.
  • A technical team from the superintendent of police’s office is examining CCTV footage, nearby cameras, witness statements and digital evidence while Secretariat range DSP Dr. Anu confirmed an active probe.
  • Tej Pratap expelled the named aide from party posts and announced the dissolution of JJD’s national and state organisational units as he called for recovery of the items.
  • The accused’s family says he is uncontactable, that unidentified people entered their home and seized phones, and they have sought protection; the residence also had a similar theft allegation in 2022, raising renewed questions about security and access.
