Overview
- Lancashire Police received reports at around 5:17pm on 6 January that a teenage girl had fallen from the back of an ambulance on the M6 southbound to M55 slip road near junction 32.
- North West Ambulance Service said the patient exited a moving ambulance, was treated at the scene, and was taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries.
- No other injuries were reported by the ambulance service, which confirmed crews responded on the slip road between the M6 and M55.
- The slip road was closed during the evening response, causing significant delays, and all lanes reopened at about 7pm.
- Lancashire Police and NWAS say they are working together on enquiries into how the incident occurred, and the girl's exact age has not been disclosed.
