Overview
- Emergency services were called at 7.20pm on Friday, with three ambulance crews and a clinical team leader attending.
- Three people were taken to James Cook University Hospital, including a 14-year-old e-bike rider later transferred to Newcastle’s RVI with a brain bleed and an ankle fracture.
- The woman driving the BMW was taken to hospital to be checked for bruising and shock.
- An 18-year-old e-bike rider suffered serious leg injuries and was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance, driving under the influence, and possession of an offensive weapon.
- Police closed the road for several hours and are appealing for dashcam footage, asking witnesses to quote reference SE26028281.
