Teen Motorcyclist Killed After League City Pursuit Ends in Crash

Galveston County deputies are reviewing how the discontinued stop attempt preceded the fatal collision.

Overview

  • The crash happened around 3:40 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of West Main Street after officers halted a chase of two motorcycles for safety reasons.
  • The rider who died was identified as 19-year-old Maxwell Henley after his motorcycle struck a pickup truck shortly after the pursuit was called off.
  • The second rider, 22-year-old Carson or Carsen Drucker, was arrested on a charge of evading arrest in a vehicle and is held on a $250,000 bond.
  • Authorities said Drucker also has an outstanding felony warrant from Harris County for failing to register as a sex offender.
  • At League City’s request, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, and West Main Street reopened at 6:55 p.m. after hours of scene work.
