Overview
- Marwan Khadir, 18, was sentenced to three years at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting threats to kill, assault causing actual bodily harm and possessing an imitation firearm.
- The Christmas Eve 2025 attack in Penge lasted more than two minutes as he pointed a realistic replica pistol at a lone worker and repeatedly assaulted him during a row over sauces.
- The victim reported the assault on Christmas Day, and detectives then used CCTV, financial checks and large-scale phone work to identify Khadir and his address.
- Armed officers arrested him on January 2 and seized the replica gun, fake ammunition and clothing seen on camera.
- The Met released CCTV and body-worn video, and DS Amy Cross said the strong evidence and the victim’s courage helped secure the conviction as part of a wider crackdown that removed 676 guns last year.
