Overview
- A white Nissan Patrol, which rolled near the Powis Street exit on Sunday about 10:30am, crashed after the 18-year-old driver lost control.
- Paramedics took him to Royal Perth Hospital, where he died a short time later.
- Northbound lanes between Southport and Powis streets closed while crews and detectives worked at the scene.
- Main Roads WA urged drivers to take other routes as traffic banked up for hours, with delays reported back to Hay Street.
- Major Crash investigators opened an inquiry and asked anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
