Overview
- The Restored Land update, which launched Thursday, is a free download for current owners and replaces the original store version with a new Restored Land Edition.
- The new mode makes the world persistent as zombies and loot no longer respawn, supplies are rarer and pricier, hunger and flashlight batteries need managing, and cleared zones can see survivors return.
- Access to Restored Land is limited to solo play on Survivor or Brutal difficulty to preserve its intended challenge.
- An optional One Life setting adds permadeath that wipes the save on death, with Techland signaling steep difficulty and unique rewards for those who finish a run.
- The release also adds Roadkill Rallies, about 33 new quest encounters, new brutal finishers, seven achievements, five hidden stashes, and various gameplay and co-op improvements.
