TCU Clears 2026 Rebid of Brasília Airport, Bundling 10 Regional Terminals

Overview

• The Federal Audit Court, which approved the revised deal Wednesday, authorized a simplified 2026 auction with a minimum offer set at 5.9% of gross concession revenue.
• The winner must take over 10 small airports in Mato Grosso, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná and Bahia to fund upgrades and keep flights operating.
• The updated contract earmarks about R$1.2 billion for Brasília, including a new international terminal, a parking garage, a new access road and new screening and security equipment.
• Infraero will leave the partnership with compensation, and current operator Inframerica is required to participate in the new bid round.
• The concession runs through July 2037 and mirrors the recent Galeão reset after weak passenger demand made the existing Brasília contract financially unworkable.
