TCL Launches 12.2‑Inch TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER Tablet in U.S.

Priced at $399.99, the tablet pairs a paper-like NXTPAPER screen with a bundled stylus and case, includes Google-linked AI tools, offers expandable storage and limited launch discounts.

Overview

  • TCL announced the TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER Monday and said the tablet is available now in the United States at a $399.99 MSRP through TCL.com and major retailers.
  • The device centers on a 12.2-inch 2.4K NXTPAPER display that uses Nano Crystal Shield Glass, an OmniSoft Light System, hardware DC dimming and TÜV-tested controls to reduce eye strain.
  • TCL ships the tablet with a pen and flip case in the box to lower total cost of ownership for students and young professionals who need note-taking and study tools.
  • Under the hood it uses a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 platform with up to 16GB RAM (including RAM expansion), 256GB onboard storage plus microSD support to 2TB, a 10,000mAh battery with 33W charging, and IP54 splash resistance.
  • The tablet runs Android 16 with TCL’s UI and built-in AI features such as Google Gemini, Circle to Search, Writing Assist and Smart Translator, and some retailers are offering limited-time Amazon launch discounts that cut effective prices on select SKUs.
