Overview
- Taylor Swift, who led the slate unveiled Tuesday, earned eight nods including artist of the year, song of the year for The Fate of Ophelia, and album of the year for The Life of a Showgirl.
- Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, SOMBR and Morgan Wallen followed with seven nominations each, with Dean and SOMBR earning first-time recognition that includes new artist of the year.
- The AMAs added 11 awards that spotlight newer trends and genres, such as breakout tour, breakthrough album, best throwback song, best vocal performance and song of the summer.
- Winners will be chosen by fans ahead of the May 25 live telecast hosted by Queen Latifah at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on CBS and Paramount+.
- Organizers said nominations were based on Billboard chart results, streaming and sales, radio play and social engagement, a formula that also lifted cross-media contenders like HUNTR/X’s Golden from KPop Demon Hunters.
