Tata–Lockheed Martin Break Ground on C-130J MRO Hub in Bengaluru

The Bengaluru site is slated to finish construction in 2026, with first maintenance work planned for early 2027.

Overview

  • The facility is located at Bhatramarenahalli near Kempegowda International Airport and will join Lockheed Martin’s Certified Service Center network.
  • It is designed for depot-level and heavy checks, component repair and overhaul, structural restoration, avionics upgrades, and expanded training for Indian engineers and maintainers.
  • The centre is planned to support C-130J, KC-130J, and legacy C-130 B–H variants, creating capacity to serve regional and global operators.
  • Lockheed Martin and Tata Advanced Systems say the hub will bolster Indian Air Force readiness for its 12 C-130J aircraft and expand opportunities for domestic suppliers across the C-130 supply chain.
  • The initiative builds on the companies’ long-running partnership, highlighted by TLMAL’s recent 250th C-130J tail delivery, and aligns with the IAF’s ongoing medium transport aircraft procurement effort.
