- An MoU amendment announced Friday between Tata Power and Druk Green Power Corporation added the 404 MW Nyera Amari I & II project.
- The partnership’s identified capacity now stands at 5,033 MW, covering Khorlochhu (600 MW), Dorjilung (1,125 MW), Gongri with Jeri pumped storage (2,540 MW), Chamkharchhu IV (364 MW), and Nyera Amari (404 MW).
- Work has begun on the Khorlochhu and Dorjilung sites, which together account for roughly a third of the pipeline.
- The companies also plan 500 MW of solar projects in Bhutan to broaden the clean‑energy buildout.
- Executives say larger power exports to India will aid Bhutan’s economy, and pumped storage at Gongri–Jeri stores water off‑peak and releases it at peak to steady the grid.
