Overview
- Target has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of specific Up & Up Fragrance Free and Fresh Cucumber baby wipes and is asking consumers to stop using the affected packs and return them for a full refund.
- The FDA detected Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli in tested samples, bacteria that can cause local infections in healthy people and serious bloodstream or lung infections in infants and immunocompromised individuals.
- The recall covers fragrance-free packs in 20, 72, 216, 800 and 1,200 counts and cucumber-scented packs in 72, 216 and 800 counts with manufacturing codes from late 2025 through May 2026 and expiration dates mainly in 2028.
- Target and the wipes’ manufacturer, Sapro Temizlik Urunleri, have received multiple consumer complaints of discoloration, eye or skin irritation and infections and are coordinating with the FDA on an active investigation with no confirmed large-scale outbreak to date.
- Consumers should return recalled wipes to any Target for a refund, call Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680 for information, and seek medical care if a child shows persistent irritation, fever, or signs of infection.
