Overview
- Tamil Nadu election officials reported 6,48,285 Form 6 requests from the extended sign-up window, with women filing more applications than men and 204 from the third gender.
- Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik said every application filed by the deadline will be processed for inclusion in the voter list used for the Assembly polls.
- The state will publish one consolidated electoral roll on April 6, which is also the last day to file nominations for candidates.
- Authorities will not print separate add, delete, or correction lists, giving parties one updated roll that is easier to use but less granular for checking individual changes.
- The push follows the February 23 final roll from the Special Intensive Revision that counted 5.67 crore voters and a major clean-up that removed about 97 lakh duplicate, deceased, or relocated entries.
