Tamil Nadu Credits Naan Mudhalvan for 56 of 60 UPSC Successes

Overview

• At a March 11 felicitation in Chennai, Chief Minister M K Stalin said 56 beneficiaries of the Naan Mudhalvan scheme were among 60 Tamil Nadu candidates who cleared the UPSC exam.
• The initiative, launched in 2022 under the Department of Special Programme Implementation, provides stipends, advanced coaching, interview preparation and hostel assistance.
• Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin noted that the All-India Civil Services Coaching Centre in Chennai expanded local capacity, reducing the need to train in Delhi and boosting scholarship applications.
• Officials reported that two candidates from Tamil Nadu ranked within the top ten in the 2025 UPSC results.
• The UPSC announced final results on March 6 with 958 total selections, as the state urges new officers to serve with humility and social-justice values and signals further expansion of coaching access.
