Take-Two CEO Leaves Door Open to L.A. Noire but Says There’s Nothing to Announce

The remark signals a broad review of legacy series with any L.A. Noire decision left to Rockstar.

Overview

  • Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, speaking at the iicon conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday, said the company is looking at its back catalog but has nothing to announce for L.A. Noire and that any news would come from Rockstar.
  • Zelnick added that revisiting an older franchise depends on having a team that is eager to take it on, framing passion inside a studio as the trigger for greenlighting legacy projects.
  • Rockstar acquired Video Games Deluxe in March 2025 and plans to rename it Rockstar Australia, a studio led by L.A. Noire director Brendan McNamara that previously built the series’ VR offshoot.
  • Zelnick also addressed Grand Theft Auto 6, saying marketing will begin soon and expressing confidence in a November 2026 release window while describing pricing as needing to feel fair for the value delivered.
  • L.A. Noire launched in 2011 under the now-closed Team Bondi, saw a 2017 remaster and a VR spin-off, and drew renewed interest despite a 2020 sequel rumor later proved false.
